Your Favorite Couch Spot Can Help You Choose Your Next Sofa

You may have a corner everyone knows is yours, or you may settle into whichever seat is available. That familiar choice can tell you what to test when shopping for a sofa: an arm to lean against, a comfortable middle cushion or enough usable length to stretch out. It cannot reliably tell anyone your personality.

Before comparing colors, decide how the sofa will be used and who needs to sit on it. Include the people sharing the room, the available walking space and the full delivery route. A good-looking sofa becomes a frustrating purchase if it blocks everyday movement, feels awkward to use or cannot get through the entrance.

Where do you usually sit?

Choose your most typical couch habit to find a useful shopping starting point. It is a seating preference, not a personality assessment.
