The Cheapest CDL Course May Not Fit the Trucking Job You Want

A short CDL course can look like a direct route to a new paycheck, but the training bill is only one part of the decision. The class of license, actual driving practice and jobs open to new graduates need to fit the work you want. Start with that match before comparing advertised prices.

Before enrolling, check your state’s eligibility, medical, permit and testing requirements, and verify any required entry-level training provider on the federal registry. A course certificate is not a CDL or a job offer. A commercial learner’s permit allows public-road practice only with the required qualified CDL holder beside you.
