Your Credit Card Balance Is Only Half the Cost Story
Two people can owe the same amount on credit cards and face very different costs. Their interest rates, new purchases, payment timing, and monthly repayment amounts all matter. Your total balance is a useful starting point, but it cannot tell you how expensive the debt will become.
If the next minimum payment is unaffordable, contact the card issuer now using the number on your card or statement. Ask about hardship options and get any agreement in writing. Do not stop paying because an advertisement promises debt forgiveness; missed payments can add costs and damage credit.
What is your total credit card balance?
Add the balances across your cards and choose a range to review the next checks for interest costs and repayment planning.
