Better Wi-Fi or Faster Internet? Find What Your Dead Zone Actually Needs

The video call works in the living room but freezes at the back desk. Paying for a faster internet plan may not fix that difference. Your provider delivers a connection to your home; Wi-Fi carries it from the router to your devices. A weak link inside the house can remain weak after a broadband upgrade.

Before buying equipment, compare the same device near the router and in the problem area, then try a second device. Keep your network encrypted and your router updated while troubleshooting. Do not disable security to chase a stronger signal. Where the problem appears helps narrow the next useful check, but it is not a diagnosis by itself.

Where is Wi-Fi weakest?

Choose the main problem area to compare placement checks and upgrade options. Location alone does not identify the cause.
