The Credit Score in Your App May Differ From the One a Lender Uses

Seeing a credit score in an app can prompt an immediate question: is that enough for the loan or card I want? Before comparing the number with a range, check which score it is, when it was calculated, and which credit report supplied the information. You can have several valid scores at the same time.

The ranges below follow common base FICO score categories, with scores of 740 and above grouped together. They are reference points, not universal approval cutoffs or a measure of personal worth. A lender may use a different model and consider income, existing obligations, and other application details as well.

Which range is closest to your credit score?

Use a recent base FICO score if available; if you are unsure of the score or model, choose the final option for the steps to check it.
